Techniques and specifications for integration of improved process control system designs into existing architecture

This deliverable report provides detail of work completed towards achieving the objectives of Milestone 3.3.1 of the FEnEx CRC’s Commonwealth Grant Agreement. The milestone 3.3.1 aimed to address techniques and specifications for integration of improved process control system designs into existing architectures, evaluated using the experimental data sets. We present the findings of the digital twin feasibility project and the interoperable analytics project, both of which fulfills the objectives of FEnEx CRC commonwealth milestone 3.3.1 in a complementary fashion. While the digital twin feasibility study project focusses on the simulation techniques relevant for improved process control of the LNG train or hydrogen plants, the interoperable analytics project provides specifications for linkage of the information produced by various digital twins (of processes) in an interoperable (integrated) fashion to leverage it across various departments/systems in an organisation and across organisations. The report also includes the details of evaluation and demonstrations performed in both the projects using experimental datasets.
