The University of South Australia is welcoming applications for 2 PhD positions in Artificial Intelligence/Data Science to work on the project “Open Analytics Interoperability” fully funded by the Future Energy Exports Cooperative Research Centre (FEnEx CRC).
Accelerating change in the energy sector is causing many companies to invest heavily in advanced analytical capabilities as a way of leveraging digital disruption to remain competitive. However, a lack of sophisticated interoperability between these technologies means companies are facing significant challenges including vendor lock-in, organisational silos, and management of change; all while being required to maintain a secure, safe, and reliable operation of a high-criticality infrastructure portfolio.
This project aims to address these challenges by formulating and piloting (on a running plant) an open specification for interoperable analytics. The successful applicants will develop novel methods and models for describing, defining, and reasoning about analytics capabilities, leading to an open specification put forward for industry adoption. The successful applicant will work with the researchers in the Industrial AI Research Centre of UniSA STEM to support the `Transforming Industries’ research theme.
The recipients should have an outstanding academic record and a background in Computer Science, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence, with emphasis on Knowledge Representation and Reasoning.
How to Apply
The applications for these PhD positions will be opening soon on UniSA website here. Meanwhile, if you are interested in applying for these positions or need further details, please contact Professor Markus Stumptner or Karamjit Kaur
