PhD Title: Kinetic and State Modelling of Cryogenic Hydrogen Mixtures Using Molecular Dynamics Simulations

Jiaou Song’s research delves into the complexities of cryogenic hydrogen mixtures, specifically focusing on the homogeneous nucleation rate modelling for cryogenic oxygen and nitrogen using molecular dynamic simulations. Additionally, Jiaou investigates the thermophysical properties and equation of states (EOS) modelling for cryogenic hydrogen mixtures. His work involves the development of novel mixed refrigerant cycles to optimize hydrogen liquefaction, aimed at reducing energy consumption and improving safety for domestic and global supply chains.

Jiaou aims to contribute to the development of efficient and safe hydrogen liquefaction processes, enhancing the reliability of cryogenic plant designs and contributing to a sustainable energy future.

Jiaou is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, supervised by Dr. Eirini Goudeli and Dr. Joseph Berry. He completed his Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Chemical Systems at the same university. His research has been published in prestigious journals, and he has presented his findings at various conferences and symposia.
