PhD Title: The role of interfaces and system size in gas hydrate formation kinetics

Chenglong’s research focuses on improving safety and efficiency in LNG production. His research explores how system size and interfaces influence gas hydrate formation, helping to predict and manage hydrate-related risks in subsea energy developments. Alongside his PhD, Sam contributes to key fugitive emissions projects aimed at quantifying methane emissions across LNG facilities. These efforts support the development of effective monitoring and reduction strategies—lowering costs, improving safety, and reducing the carbon intensity of energy production.

Chenglong completed a Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical) with Distinction from the University of Western Australia
