Amisha Mehta specialises in risk and crisis communication at the QUT Business School. She applies this expertise in emerging industries like commercial drones to examine trust and technology acceptance and also in the context of natural hazards. Amisha co-leads a risk and warning research program for the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre (BNHCRC) and other industry-funded research programs. She actively works with industry to translate findings into practice, leading to change in organisational practice and government policy. Amisha is a member of the Advisory Panel for the Office of the Inspector General for Emergency Management and leads the World Meteorological Organization’s High Impact Weather trust project. Amisha and the BNHCRC team received an Excellence in Innovation Award from the CRC Association in 2019. Her teaching and research have been recognised by national and industry associations.
