Congratulations to Dr Roman Weh on his PhD completion

July 28, 2022

The FEnEx CRC would like to congratulate Dr Roman Weh on the completion of his PhD.

A Graduate from the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany, with a master’s degree in chemical engineering, Roman joined The University of Western Australia in 2018 and was a Future Energy Exports CRC PhD Scholar until his completion this year. His work focused on the separation of helium from natural gas by dual reflux pressure swing adsorption.

Helium is an important but scarce commodity, and the developed process allows for its recovery from unconventional sources at low-cost. It is through Roman’s work that we have been able to show how helium can be recovered at low-cost.

He has already published a number of articles and has recently accepted a role at Hatch.

Eric May, FEnEx CRC CEO recently said “Roman is thoughtful, thorough in his approach to any project; a pleasure to work with”.

Roman’s thesis is available to view online here.
