PhD Title: Converting carbon dioxide into fuels for large scale production
Praveen has a Master’s degree in the field of Materials Engineering. The objective of his research is to establish a process for converting carbon dioxide into valuable fuels using metal hydrides, that could be implemented for large scale production. The thermodynamic stability of CO2 demands large energy inputs for conversion, but recent discoveries propose that metal hydride provides better energy efficiency due to high-density of hydrogen. Based on the experimental analysis Praveen aims to demonstrate reaction pathways and methodology between various metal hydrides and carbon dioxide gas. In addition to this, he will investigate the feasibility of recycling the reduced metal hydrides.
