Turning Methane into Sustainable Graphite

Curtin University

Praveen has completed his Master’s degree in Materials Engineering from Monash University, Melbourne, and is currently a Ph.D. student at Curtin University. His primary research focuses on understanding the fundamentals of methane pyrolysis, a process that dissociates methane into clean hydrogen and solid carbon at high temperatures, without emitting any carbon dioxide. Praveen’s work involves employing both computational and experimental methods to investigate the role of important carbon formation molecules at the molecular level. This in-depth understanding of carbon formation mechanisms will help to diminish the barriers involved in scaling up hydrogen production from the methane pyrolysis process.
